Outten & Golden LLP announces that Paul W. Mollica, Of Counsel to the firm in its Chicago office, was elected to membership in the American Law Institute on October 20, 2011.

The American Law Institute(ALI), headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, describes itself as "the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law." The ALI was founded in 1923 to bring together American judges, lawyers, and teachers to propose law reform. Projects of the ALI include the Restatements of the Law (now in their Third Series), the drafting of influential Model Laws (including the Model Code of Evidence and the Model Penal Code), and continuing legal education.

Mr. Mollica has served as an Advisor to the ALI's Restatement Third, Employment Law Project since 2008.

Mr. Mollica is Of Counsel to Outten & Golden and co-head of the Appellate Litigation Practice Group and a member of the firm's Class Action and Collective Actions Practice Group. He represents plaintiffs in class, collective and public interest litigation covering all aspects of federal and state civil rights laws, ERISA, and other employment law.

Mr. Mollica has wide appellate experience, including dozens of appeals in state and federal courts, and has authored or co-authored amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals for such national organizations as the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, ACLU, NAACP, AARP, People for the American Way, and the National Employment Lawyers Association. He is also a frequent author and lecturer (for lawyers and courts) in the area of employment discrimination.

He is a frequent author and lecturer in the area of employment discrimination. Since 1996, Mr. Mollica has served as an executive editor and reviewer on Lindemann and Grossman's EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAW (BNA), including the Fourth and upcoming Fifth Editions, a leading treatise in the field.
