US Senate candidate Paul Akers will run an unprecedented joint radio ad campaign with Clint Didier in the 2010 US Senate race for Washington state, calling on voters to support them over establishment candidates Dino Rossi and Patty Murray.

We're doing something unprecedented in political campaigns. Even though we're both running for the same US Senate seat, we're joining together with a single message to caution you about what's going on in this race.

Tomorrow, US Senate candidate Paul Akers begins broadcasting the first ever joint campaign radio ad. He is joined by Clint Didier in calling on voters to elect a “new kind of Republican.”

The ad states, “We're doing something unprecedented in political campaigns. Even though we're both running for the same US Senate seat, we're joining together with a single message to caution you about what's going on in this race.”

The ads will air on 97 spots on 6 talk radio stations in Seattle and Spokane over a period of 5 days, starting August 4. Each campaign will pay for half of the cost.

Akers and Didier made an unprecedented joint announcement Thursday July 29th, stating their intention to cooperate in running against candidates chosen by the establishment.

In the ad, both candidates say, “If you like what the political insiders have brought you so far, you'll be getting more of the same with Rossi and Murray. But if you're ready for a new kind of Republican, faithful to the party principles, ready to fight for 'We the People,' then take a closer look at us.”
