The world’s largest gym access service, payasUgym.com, has now reached Yorkshire with the addition of clubs in Leeds, Sheffield, York, Wakefield and Pontefract. With over 300 clubs already involved across the country, payasUgym is the largest network of its kind and has picked up numerous awards for innovation since launching just 15 months ago.
The payasUgym.com service and enables people to use gyms and health clubs across the UK on a flexible basis with the objective of getting more people involved in fitness during an Olympic year.
Having initially launched in London in February 2011, payasUgym.com has grown rapidly and includes gyms and health clubs of all shapes and sizes. By providing customers with flexible gym use, clubs have been extremely successful in attracting new customers into their facilities. Gaining the support of gym operators has been key to the rapid expansion of this free-to-participate service.
CEO Jamie Ward said, “payasUgym.com has proved to be hugely attractive to new gym users with over 3.5 million customer searches being carried out in the last 12 months. However, the key to the expansion of the service has been to demonstrate to gym operators that it is in their interests to offer a wider variety of services to get more people involved in sport and exercise.”
By creating a service which has huge appeal to potential gym users, payasUgym.com has also demonstrated that gyms and health clubs can benefit from the additional customers the service provides them with. “92% of people that use payasUgym in 2011 said the only reason they used the club that they did was because the found it through payasUgym.com which proves we are highly effective at improving overall participation in health and fitness.” said Ward.
As part of on-going expansion plans the payasUgym.com team are keen to attract more clubs and more customers in the UK’s biggest County, Yorkshire. Ward said, “With the success and popularity of payasUgym.com in other regions of the UK we are hugely excited to now be working with clubs in Leeds, Sheffield, York, Wakefield and Pontefract. Over the coming weeks we hope to add many more high quality clubs in the region.”
Notes to Editors:
The idea for payasUgym.com was created by Jamie Ward and Neil Harmsworth after discussing the difficulties in finding decent gyms in London that you can just go to on a one-off basis.
payasUgym.com was launched in February 2011 and currently offers over 300+ gyms in the UK and is now the world’s largest gym access programme.
