PB2 Foods is taking over a protein powder aisle near you, thanks to its latest breakthrough product line PB2 Performance.

Designed primarily for use in smoothies and shakes, PB2’s new plant-based protein powders boast a full 20 grams of complete, plant-based protein per 45-gram serving. PB2 Performance Plant Powder will come in two varieties: PB2 Performance Peanut Protein with Dutch Cocoa and PB2 Performance Almond Protein with Madagascar Vanilla.

Both products sport a clean label and contain just six ingredients each, including brown rice protein, inulin (a prebiotic fiber providing both functional and nutritional benefits), monk fruit extract (a natural, sugar-free sweetener), and salt. The peanut version features roasted peanuts and cocoa, while the almond variety contains almonds and natural Madagascar Vanilla flavor. Both products contain zero added sugar and are certified vegan, certified gluten-free, certified kosher and Non-GMO Project Verified.

“PB2 Performance is pure plant power,” says Craig Entwistle, the chief executive officer of PB2 Foods. “Unlike the majority of other plant-based proteins, our combinations are made from real peanuts and almonds with no artificial flavoring. This gives us a huge taste advantage in the category, since peanuts and almonds are already widely known to be delicious, setting PB2 Performance apart from all other plant-based proteins from the start.”

The pioneer in powdered nut butter, PB2 came up with the idea for PB2 Performance after company researchers noticed that many health-conscious consumers were adding PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter or PB2 Powdered Almond Butter to their protein shakes and smoothies, for extra flavor and protein

“You shouldn’t settle for less than great taste in the foods that fuel you,” stated Entwistle. “We’re already getting great feedback from customers and shoppers loyal to plant-based proteins about PB2 Performance. And that’s to be expected, since the innovation idea originated from the fans of our other powdered nut butter products,” Entwistle pointed out.

PB2 Performance Peanut Protein with Dutch Cocoa comes in a 32-ounce jar and contains 20 grams of complete plant-based protein plus 8 grams of dietary fiber per serving. It also has 190 calories and 5 grams of fat per serving. PB2 Performance Almond Protein with Madagascar Vanilla is available in a 16-ounce jar and contains 20 grams of complete plant-based protein and 7 grams of dietary fiber per serving. It has 180 calories and 4.5 grams of fat per serving. Both flavor varieties will retail in the $20 to $25 range.

PB2 Performance initially will be available on Amazon and in select grocery stores served by Associated Wholesale Grocers, the nation's largest cooperative food wholesaler. The brand’s goal is to increase the products’ footprint to other retailers across the country by year’s end.
