Community college and junior/senior high school students are invited to the free Arizona SciTech Internship Expo, 8:30 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Sept. 29 in the Pastor Plaza north of the Library, Phoenix College, 1202 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix 85013.
Phoenix College and the Maricopa County Community College District, in partnership with the Arizona SciTech Festival, TGen and the Arizona Technology Council are hosting this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) event.
Students will meet representatives from organizations in the Phoenix metropolitan area that host STEM internship programs and learn what it takes to submit a competitive application for summer and year-round internship opportunities.
“There will be many exciting opportunities for meaningful pre-career experiences that students might not otherwise find out about,” says Seth Goodman, Title V director at Phoenix College. “Here is a chance for them to connect with outstanding future employers. Also, this Expo is a way for some of the region’s most innovative companies to reach a diverse pool of top young STEM talent.”
Among the many organizations at the Expo will be the United States Department of Agriculture, Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), Mayo Clinic, Archaeology Department of Paradise Valley, KEYS Research Internships at University of Arizona, Nature Conservatory and City of Phoenix.
Phoenix College is one of the 10 regionally accredited Maricopa Community Colleges.
