Product Development Technologies (PDT), a global, full-service product development firm, announced today that it has been awarded five 2013 ADEX Platinum Awards. PDT partnered with five unique clients to develop products that have earned ADEX awards for their outstanding form, function and fitness for a particular purpose.

PDT’s designs for Perkins SMART Brailler®, Tipsy! Electronic Tipping Concept, HumanToolz Mobile iPad Stand, PRIMAL7 Total Body Trainer and STERIS Amsco V-PRO maX Low Temperature Sterilization System all received Platinum awards in the Product Design category.

Perkins SMART Brailler:
The Perkins SMART Brailler®, from the maker of the world-renowned Perkins Brailler®, is a high-technology Microsoft CE based braille learning device that provides audio and visual feedback coupled with hard-copy output so that anyone can teach themselves braille. The SMART Brailler is unique in its multi-function, multi-sensory output using the standard braille keyboard. Fitted with a proprietary electronic device that displays large print, simulated braille images and audio output, the SMART Brailler allows non-braille users to access what is being typed. It not only functions as a mechanical brailler, it allows a student to save and transfer electronic documents via USB, and to edit documents. Even more importantly, with the audio feedback and screen which displays what is being brailled, a sighted classmate or parent can work alongside the student. Tipsy! Electronic Tipping Concept:
Tipsy! is a fun and easy way for customers to show appreciation for service through tipping in an increasingly cash-free environment. It provides a platform for employees and establishments to continue the relationship beyond the current transaction through social media and gives establishments an opportunity to stay connected with their customers via opt-in promotions and loyalty programs.
