Moore Insurance, a locally owned insurance and financial planning firm that provides services to business and residential clients throughout eastern Texas, is launching a charity effort to assist the family of Will Herndon, a young boy diagnosed with Batten disease.

Batten is a rare genetic neurodegenerative disorder. Young children suffering from Batten often suffer declined cognitive function, loss of memory, affected speech, vision loss, and seizures, usually leading to mental and physical incapacitation. This charity drive will raise funds earmarked for future research into a cure for the devastating disease.

“Will Herndon remains a beacon of hope for many families struggling with Batten disease, and we want to do everything we can to assist his family during this difficult time,” states Jared Moore, founder and director of Moore Insurance.

To promote the Will Herndon charity drive, Moore and his team are reaching out to families and business owners across the state of Texas over social media and email. The team is also planning to produce a full page article featuring Will, Batten disease, and the charity effort in the upcoming edition of the firm’s online community magazine “Our Hometown”: http://mooreinsuranceteam.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_39.

During the last two years, Moore Insurance has worked with a dozen other Texas based charities, causes, and non-profit organizations. As part of a permanent community enrichment program called “Agents of Change,” Moore and his team plan to continue working with at least one new Texas charity or cause every sixty days.
