Newcastle upon-Tyne, UK (PRWeb UK) December 2, 2009 -- Survey results out today show that Southerners would prefer a perfect night in with Stephen Fry at a beach retreat whilst Northerners would opt for a romantic countryside night in with Take That.
Whilst the majority of the 1156 women questioned as part of a survey conducted by Penn State Snacks, would ideally spend a night in with their partner (45%) or best friend (51%), the North and South were divided when choosing a celebrity companion to enjoy the evening with. Eight per cent of Southerners were enticed by Stephen Frys intellectual conversation whilst 12 per cent of Northerners would prefer an evening of musical entertainment from Take That.
The ladies of the North West disagreed with the rest of the UK on their choice of celebrity male partner to share a packet of Penn State's new Baked Deli Chips with, opting for Will Smith (12%) whilst Johnny Depp topped the charts as the perfect sharing partner for the rest of the nation.
It seems that the nation is united on its love for comedy with all regions selecting Dawn French (18%) as their ideal female celebrity companion for a perfect night in.
The UK also agreed on food and drink choices and proved that we are a nation of wine drinkers with a quarter of women choosing wine as their favoured tipple for their perfect night in, discounting champagne and cocktails.
The survey conducted by Penn State Snacks aimed to find out what the UKs perfect night in would be. The results tie in with the launch of Penn States new Baked Deli Chip range, which are available in two flavours - SpicyJalfrezi and Spicy Teriyaki - the chips are made using the finest ingredients to ensure that each bite is a real treat for the senses. The New York deli inspired flavours allow you to sample two of your favourite dishes from across the world in a bite size snack.
The location of the perfect night in showed regional differences again with the ladies of the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside and Scotland willing to embrace the elements and head to a log cabin (22%), while the rest of UK selected a sunshine escape beach house (33%).
