Solomon Associates, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, today announced that Ed Platt has been promoted to vice president of the company’s Power Group. In this capacity, Platt will direct the company’s efforts to serve its power generation clients and develop new business worldwide.
“Since joining Solomon Associates in 2003, Ed has consistently shown a high level of initiative and leadership in his dealings with clients, as well as his colleagues in the Power Group,” said Dale Emanuel, president of Solomon Associates. “This promotion reflects those efforts, as well as our confidence in Ed’s guiding hand going forward.”
“Power plant operators are facing a period of rapidly changing market and regulatory conditions,” Platt said. “This makes the work of the Power Group very rewarding, because our team is helping clients identify critical performance improvements and manage the tradeoffs of cost, reliability, technology, and markets that are inherent in operating power generation assets today.”
In a career that has spanned more than 35 years in the power generation industry, Platt managed and directed operations, maintenance, technical, and engineering support for TXU’s 18,925 MW of gas, oil, and coal generating capacity, encompassing 23 plant locations.
