Personal Coaching Guru and Team 72's front man Kevin McGill and his brothers, Billy McGill and Doug McGill, commissioned the independent documentary. The documentary was filmed by Sacramento-based Simz Productions and is now being shopped to cable companies and international film festivals. This month the movie began showing in select theatres, debuting on May 13th at the State Theatre in Modesto, California.

The film, "The McGills: An American Success Story," is the family's story. While the film does portray a dark side, a harsh upbringing in unimaginable circumstances, primarily the film is meant as a story of hope that can show what is possible when one focuses on the things in life that can be changed. "I always like to say I wasn't raised, I grew up," Kevin McGill said. "But the point is it doesn't matter how you grew up. Whether you were beaten up every day, molested, or starved, it doesn't mean you can't rise from that and become a contributing member of society. It doesn't mean you can't be successful in life."

The film and story has been corroborated by family members, friends, and neighbors. However, some family members have objected to making this film, including Alice McGill, the boys' mother. In recent years when the boys told their mother they wanted to make a film about the family, she told them she was embarrassed to have the family's story in the public while she was still alive -- Alice passed away a year ago. "We made this movie truly as an inspirational story, to educate people and show them that you can achieve anything you want regardless of what happened yesterday," stated the McGills.
