Not only am I very honored to be receiving this generous award, I am looking forward to attending the gala and speaking out about what we all can, and should do to help.

Each year, The Northeast Kidney Foundation presents The Edwin Sperber Legacy Award to honor an individual or organization who, through their philanthropic outreach efforts, preserves the legacy of our community. This year the foundation will be honoring Paul B. Harding, managing partner of the personal injury law firm, Martin, Harding & Mazzotti.

Paul Harding will be receiving the Edwin Sperber Legacy Award for his philanthropic efforts that have improved the lives of countless individuals.

The Night in Vegas, Gala Celebration will be held May 24, 2012 at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, NY. It will pay tribute to those that help the foundation improve the odds for those living with kidney disease or waiting for a life saving transplant.

When asked why he supports the Northeast Kidney Foundation, Paul says, "Organizations like this one are essential to a part of our community that critically needs support. I strongly encourage, not only attending the event, but seeing if there is something that all of us can do to help."

The event is being chaired by Tracy Metzger of TL Metzger & Associates and will feature entertainment, games of chance offering fun prizes, a live and silent auction and a chance to network and mingle with 300+ of the area's prominent business leaders.

Sponsorship applications, auction items and journal advertisements are being accepted. Please call Carol at 518-533-7880 for more information. For a snapshot of last year's celebration please see the photo and video gallery at the HealthyKidneys.org event page. The Northeast Kidney Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life of those affected by kidney disease and related conditions through early identification, intervention, prevention and support services. The organization promotes organ donation as well. It also empowers their community to be an effective voice for better healthcare at the local, state and federal levels.

In 1972 Ed & Rhoda Sperber founded the local chapter of the Northeast Kidney Foundation after Ed donated a kidney to his daughter, Barbara, just a short time before she was to be married. The Sperbers are a two time living donor family because 30 years after Ed donated a kidney to Barbara, her daughter donated a kidney to her once again.

Paul Harding continued, "Not only am I very honored to be receiving this generous award, I am looking forward to attending the gala and speaking out about what we all can, and should do to help."
