LifeStorage Bridgeview Partners With Three Different Organizations To Help Foster Pets Find Permanent Homes

Self Storage Bridgeview Pet-A-Palooza

LifeStorage, Chicago self storage provider for home and business, records management and office solutions, is holding a Pet-A-Palooza pet adoption event at its Bridgeview location, 7700 W 79th Street, Bridgeview, IL, on November 19th from 10 am to 3 pm. The event takes place indoors and will have private play areas where prospective adopters can interact and get to know the different animals up for adoption. LifeStorage Bridgeview is also setting up a drop for pet supplies and is accepting donations for those unable to adopt, but that would like to help future foster pets.

Self Storage Bridgeview Store Managers and pet lovers Nancy Warrer and Jeffery Helms started Pet-A-Palooza as a way to find some of the many area foster pets new homes. “It really just started as two pet owners here in the office talking and it took on a life of its own from there,” Helms said. “We’ve reached out to different agencies and the reception has been positive.”

Thus far, there are three agencies confirmed for the event: The People’s Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) of Tinley Park, Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue (FFGDR), and Forest South Animal Hospital. P.A.W.S. is a no-kill shelter that places 1,100 animals a year, predominantly dogs and cats. P.A.W.S. is a completely volunteer-operated organization that is funded by donations. FFGDR is a Great Dane placement agency servicing Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan, helping neglected, abandoned, and abused Great Danes find permanent homes. Forest South Animal Hospital is a full-service hospital specializing in advanced veterinary surgery, located in University Park.

“Our thoughts and goals on this is to hopefully to get as many pets adopted out to families and to possibly acquire new tenants either at our location or possibly one that is closer to where they might live. The event is two-fold, but as a pet lover, it’s hard not to focus on the animals involved. I do not have any kids, so to me, my doggies are my children. They require the same attention and love. My dogs go everywhere with me,” Warrer said.

Helms added: “As business runners, this event is great because it will help drive traffic to our facility. As pet lovers, it’s a wonderful opportunity to help out animals in need. Like Nancy mentioned, for some of us, pets are like our children. They are true friends, providing companionship and unconditional love. Finding them good homes is such an important goal of ours.”
