I have tears of joy in my eyes
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 21, 2007
America voted and named Toula of Plainwell, Mich., the next PETCO Star. The three-year-old border collie who can open trashcans, get a soda for her mom and flush the toilet will win a trip to Los Angeles where she will be featured in upcoming PETCO advertising.
“I have tears of joy in my eyes,” said proud pet parent Christine Mahaney. “I was amazed that we made it to the finals, so this is incredible.”
Toula beat out hundreds of talented pets from around the country in the PETCO Stars competition. After making it to the finals it was up to America to vote for their favorite.
“I am so excited to be able to show America what you can do with a rescue dog; they make wonderful pets,” Mahaney said. Mahaney rescued Toula from a shelter and now fosters rescued border collies.
In addition to being featured in PETCO advertising, Mahaney and Toula will receive a trip for two to pet-friendly Los Angeles, courtesy of LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. Two runners up, Pixie of Macomb, Mich. and AARP of San Pedro, Calif., will receive PETCO gift cards.
