Frierson’s collection shares universal themes stemming from its central topics of love and happiness. These themes come across in the collection’s five sections, organized into poems about love, life, family, friends and inspiration.
“Sweetness will make a person think and bring happiness to his or her heart, mind and soul,” Frierson says of his poetry’s topic.
“Sweetness of the Heart, Mind, and Soul” is more than just a book of poems – it is a collection of thoughts to uplift those who are down and bring smiles to those who are looking for love, Frierson says.
A poetry excerpt from “Sweetness of the Heart, Mind, and Soul”:
“I can change ’cause the world is waiting for a change.
I can change because change is good—good
for the body, good for the mind, good
for the soul, and good for love.”
“Sweetness of the Heart, Mind, and Soul”
