Pets Vs. Pot – Which Should Win a ‘Big Game’ Commercial? Contest Reaches All-Time High

In response to marijuana-legalizing lobby group NORML’s claim that it is currently the leading vote-getter in Intuit’s “Small Business Big Game” contest, Pet Sitters International (PSI) is asking the public to cast their virtual ballot in favor of pets—not pot—and help the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters win a free commercial during the 2014 Big Game.

Pet Sitters International competing in Intuits Small Business Big Game Contest

With so many people watching the Big Game with their beloved pets on their laps or by their sides, we’re sure that our message will be well received.

King, NC (PRWEB) October 08, 2013

Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters, is calling upon the public to proclaim that professional care for beloved pets is a higher priority than a political campaign to legalize baggies of pot.

The request relates to Round 2 of Intuit Inc.’s “Small Business Big Game” contest, which is currently pitting PSI against thousands of small business competitors across the country, including NORML, a marijuana legalization lobbying group that claims be leading the race (although this could be a hallucination…)

And what’s at stake is much more than the opportunity to enjoy some good-natured ribbing at the competition’s expense: if PSI emerges victorious in Intuit’s contest, it will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to air a commercial during the Big Game on Feb. 2, 2014, and share the importance of professional pet care with the game’s nearly 121 million viewers.

“There are a number of reasons people should vote for pets over pot in the Intuit contest,” joked PSI President Patti Moran. “For starters, pet ownership is a healthier lifestyle choice, and rarely—if ever – do pets compel their owners to run to the store for peanut butter and potato chips at three in the morning.”

“And really,” Moran laughed, “when was the last time the government declared a war on pets?”

On a more serious note, Moran also commented on what winning the contest would mean to PSI members, and even more importantly, to pet owners and their pets:

“Despite the fact that PSI’s pet-sitting members make almost 20 million pet-care visits to nearly 750,000 caring pet owners each year, there’s still a huge segment of pet owners who don’t know about the professional in-your-home pet care option that our members provide. We see winning the Intuit Small Business Big Game contest as the perfect opportunity to spread the word about what we do, and how we help. And with so many people watching the Big Game with their beloved pets on their laps or by their sides, we’re sure that our message will be well received.”

Pet owners, lovers and advocates across the globe who want to help give Pet Sitters International the boost it needs to emerge triumphantly can cast their vote daily through October 13 by visiting http://intuit.me/1bmdT0A.
