US-Rx Care, the country's premier pharmacy benefits risk management company, is upgrading its already-robust proprietary prescription system, which will create even more savings for millions of patients.

The Therapeutic Alternative Prescription System (T.A.P.S.) will be unveiled in August, further expanding the company's fixed-cost pricing model that provides unprecedented cost savings and incentives to both benefit plans and members.

The company's first therapeutic intervention system was established about 15 years ago. In 2005, it was automated. Now, with the launch of Version Two of T.A.P.S., US-Rx Care is offering an even more comprehensive and inclusive way to control costs.

With T.A.P.S., US-Rx Care partners with benefit plans and their members to create pharmacy savings through the innovative fixed cost pricing model, which limits plan exposure to the previous 12-month non-specialty spend.

"We proactively provided cost savings options to physicians and members," said US-Rx Care Lead Pharmacist Taeho Oh. "T.A.P.S. is completely unique in the United States by offering true incentives for participation which results in savings."

The company's fixed cost pricing model includes these innovative features:

  •     The US-Rx Care pharmacists review and monitor every member file to look for quality of care and cost saving opportunities.
  •     100 percent of the rebate dollars are passed on to members.
  •     Members are provided with choices already approved by doctors.
  •     100 percent of US-Rx Care revenue is generated through savings.
