Post Production Veteran Dan Davis joins Lavidge Creative team

Phoenix advertising agency, The Lavidge Company (TLC), a full-service advertising, public relations, interactive, consulting and marketing communications agency, today announced the formation of a new division of Lavidge called the "Boiler Room" that specializes in video post production and editing services.

Dan Davis, formerly of Downtown Digital Post, joined Lavidge as senior editor in February to lead editorial services and manage a newly created video production and editing suite inside the Phoenix-based advertising agency. Davis brings his 20+ years of editing experience to the agency's Creative team and will work directly with Lavidge's Chief Creative Officer Bob Case.

Bill Lavidge, CEO of The Lavidge Company, stated "Many ad agencies can shoot commercial spots, but they need to farm out editing to a third-party production company to get a final product that the client can use. We do this process in-house, which is more convenient and saves our clients time and money."

Lavidge invested tens of thousands of dollars in computer equipment, audio and visual technology and purchased an HD Final Cut Pro editing system to outfit the new production suite. Lavidge now provides an in-house studio offering special effects creation (incorporating Green Screen technology), after effects (3D animation) and editorial (digital, non-linear editing).

Recent examples of The Lavidge Company's creative work using video post production and editing services include the Phoenix Sun's Planet Orange campaign launched in 2008 and TV spots promoting the 2009 NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Phoenix Convention Center Feb. 12 -16. This year is the first time that the NBA is working with the Phoenix ad agency, a local agency from the hosting city.
