Phoenix NAP®, a full service data center, premier infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider and primary network access point (NAP), announced today that Environmental Science Associates (ESA), an environmental science and planning firm, has selected the Phoenix NAP facility for its colocation hosting and IT infrastructure needs. In making the decision to establish servers in Phoenix NAP, ESA cited the facility’s flexibility, swift response, room for growth and engagement with companies of all sizes as significant motivating factors.

“Colocating our data center was identified as one of our five-year strategic plan goals in order to ensure ESA’s viability and stability in the event of a natural disaster,” said Greg Thornton, ESA CFO and the firm’s Safety Officer. “Currently all our information is housed in San Francisco, making our company information vulnerable and at risk. Should a natural disaster hit the Bay area, ESA’s data could be completely lost, debilitating work throughout the company, even offices far removed from the natural disaster. “

By contracting with Phoenix NAP to collocate the firm’s data center, ESA’s clients and employees can be assured that their critical project data is safe and secure.

“We are excited to support ESA’s IT infrastructure needs,” said Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. “Their efforts to minimize the impact to natural communities through a mixture of innovation, science and technology are forging the path for IT products and services while keeping the notion of a sustainable future a priority. We look forward to the abundant new opportunities having them in our data center will bring to both companies.”

Phoenix NAP is a PCI DSS Validated Service Provider and a SAS 70 Type II certified facility.
