Getting outside and having some fun taking some new photos is a surefire cure for the winter blahs and cabin fever. There are six different short courses offered in April.

  • Spring Nature and Landscapes - beautiful landscapes, scenics, flowers and details of nature
  • Pet Photography - portraits that capture your pet's personality and expression
  • Digital SLR Photography 101 - learn what all those controls, dials and settings on your DSLR camera are for
  • Beginners Guide to Great Photos - tips for taking great looking photos with more impact
  • Horses and Humans - contemporary portraits of horses and humans that tell the story of the relationship between horses and their people
  • Horse in Action - fast action photography of horses in motion both under saddle and running free

The courses include a comprehensive lesson with detailed instructions and a photography assignment. Each lesson covers which camera settings to use and important shooting techniques, all explained in easy to understand plain language.

Students have two weeks to work on their assignment, ask questions and get help along the way. After completing the assignment, students upload their photos and receive helpful feedback and advice. The learning environment is supportive, fun and creative. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions, discuss ideas and participate.

The virtual classroom is a lively place attracting hundreds of students from all over the US and Canada in addition to a growing number of students from around the world. Course materials and discussion are available 24/7. Online student, Dorothy Puddester from Ontario Canada writes "I love these courses you have offered. They are just amazing. Both you and Christina are fantastic instructors and are very patient with all our technical questions."

Photo challenges offer another engaging way for students to share photos and have fun with some friendly competition. All students are invited to participate by uploading and rating photos. There are two prizes for each challenge. One prize is awarded to the Peoples' Choice highest rated photo and the other prize is awarded to the Instructors' Choice photo.
