Sarasota, Florida (PRWEB) October 25, 2012
At the end of last May a new blog appeared on the photographic scene, PhotoResourceHub.com. The concept was to create a central location where photographers could stay up to date on events around the country along with classic educational videos, podcasts with photographic icons and posts on business, marketing and "how to" guest posts on various techniques.
Today, after just five months, Photo Resource Hub is host to 228 different posts which include 46 videos, 16 podcasts (a new podcast airs every ten days), 2 calendars showing short and long term events and close to 150 posts primarily on the business and marketing of professional photography. Most recently The Webinar Hub was added to the mix where significant webinars previously aired will be available to watch.
"GoingPro, co-authored with my good buddy, Scott Bourne, was published one year ago this month by Random House. During the almost two years before it was released the GoingPro blog grew to an estimated 50,000 followers. While we're working on new tools to help aspiring and working professional photographers, we decided to combine the themes of GoingPro's blog with my personal blog," commented Cohen.
He went on to say, "I never anticipated the incredible response from the industry. Every feature at PRH is exceeding our goals. The blog was built in record time by the Bourne Media Group and as one example, with the last four podcasts on Building Your Network, downloads for each one has exceeded the previous show."
The most recent podcast, featuring professional wedding and portrait photographers, Chuck and Jennifer Maring was released just three days ago and is already approaching a thousand downloads.
Videos and posts are seeing a similar kind of response. For example, the video center is home to fifteen Profoto videos with industry icons like Mary Ellen Mark, Gregory Heisler, Jeremy Cowart, Matthew Jordan Smith and the Marings, just to name a few.
"The challenge in this industry is that everything is so segmented. We're working to bring a series of different educational components together in one location. No one blog or website can do it all, but we're sure doing our best to try and give photographers the tools they need to expand their skill set and grow their business." said Cohen.
If you're a photographer teaching a workshop or a manufacturer hosting/sponsoring an event, remember to keep the crew at the PhotoResourceHub up to date. The calendar component is a key part of the help Cohen and his crew want to establish for photographers. Event information should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and should include the event name, the featured photographer, date, location and the URL for interested attendees to get more information.
