I think the idea that people liked the best was using the communication tri-fecta approach to contact physicians and patients. This consists of the physician tri-fecta (in-person, fax and mail) and the patient tri-fecta (text, email and phone calls).

Fresh from the success of the recent Private Practice Owners Retreat held in Las Vegas, renowned International Marketing Specialist Nitin Chhoda released highlights of the event attended by top private physical therapy practitioners and owners. The narrative report, including video footages and interviews taken on the weekend of April 13-15, were posted on Chhoda’s website.
“From people with nine clinics and counting to those who are on the verge of opening up in a few months, the Private Practice Retreat represented the most eclectic mix of private practitioners ever under one roof,” Chhoda said on his website. “Many of the top private practice owners especially in physical therapy business took time AWAY from their practice to learn how they can take their practice to the next level. It was a classic example of working ON your practice rather than IN your practice.”
Speakers to the event included John Garrard who stressed the value of scripts and systems in his talk “The Owner Eliminated Practice”. Garrard drew insights from his own experience as he helped run the Augusta-based Healing Hands Physical Therapy Clinic which he co-owns with fellow PT Jurgen Cowling. Financial expert and New York Times bestselling author Garrett Gunderson explained how to use different forms of compensation to encourage employees, save thousands of dollars per year on operational expenses, and other tips on financial and physical therapy management. He encouraged attendees to spend time doing high lifetime value activities like financial planning and legal ways to minimize tax burden.
Brian Boyle spoke about how to add revenue stream with on-site care for corporations and work environments, including an outline on what to say, how to conduct them and why this is an opportunity most private practice owners need to grab immediately. Jerry Durham spoke about taking the practice to the next level by getting out of one’s comfort zone to challenge the status quo and open up opportunities.
Nitin Chhoda shared 20 strategies to add new patients to the practice. The strategies included automatic follow up sequences and how to approach doctors from the “3rd dimension”. He also shared a technique on becoming the local expert in one’s area in as little as 10 days.
“I think the idea that people liked the best was using the communication tri-fecta approach to contact physicians and patients. This consists of the physician tri-fecta (in-person, fax and mail) and the patient tri-fecta (text, email and phone calls). These are the three communication channels you should use to build a relationship with patients and physicians,” explained Chhoda.
The event ended with a bonus session from Chhoda about search engine optimization (SEO) and the announcement that a similar event is already planned for September 27-29 , 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
