We have a responsibility as a major media outlet to be breed ambassadors. We can make a difference for these amazing dogs.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 17, 2012

National Pit Bull Awareness Day was established in 2007 as a nationwide effort to bring positive awareness and attention to the American Pit Bull Terrier and their responsible owners.

According to http://www.nationalpitbullawarenessday.org, Bless the Bullys, a non-profit rescue and education effort in Tennessee, introduced the National Pit Bull Awareness Day idea and it took off like wildfire.

Now, the entire month of October is known as National Pit Bull Awareness Month, while pit bull devotees recognize October 27th across the country as National Pit Bull Awareness Day.

“National Pit Bull Awareness Day is a day to educate people about these so often misunderstood dogs,” said Brandy Arnold, Content Editor for Dogington Post. “Many only know of ‘pit bulls’ by what they hear on the news. We have a responsibility as a major media outlet to be breed ambassadors. We can make a difference for these amazing dogs.”

Dogington Post reaches over 1.6 million dog lovers each week. To honor National Pit Bull Awareness Month, the popular dog news site published several news stories and articles featuring pit bull terriers.

Several celebrity pit bull owners are featured on the pages of Dogington Post, as well as educational articles about breed specific legislation that specifically outlaws pit bull terriers in certain parts of the country. The site also publishes late-breaking dog news, including stories that feature bully breed dogs.

“We are always pleased when we can publish a story that highlights a pit bull as the heroic, loyal, and smart breed he is,” said Arnold. “And it’s no surprise to us that we publish those types of stories quite often! Pit bulls are, in our opinion, some of the best dogs out there!”

The Dogington Post features a weekly slideshow of reader submitted dog photos. In honor of National Pit Bull Awareness month, the site will feature photos of pit bulls and bully breeds owned and loved by the readers of the site.
