It has been a good start to the year for the Plano Police Department. Crimes are down almost entirely across the board compared to the 2011 crime rates. The one exception is rape which is more than 50% higher than last year. But the PPD is going one step further in their efforts to protect and serve the citizens of Plano, especially the ones that do become victimized.

"We want to make sure we have a better quality of life for all of our citizens," said Greg Rushin, the current Plano Police Chief. That is why the city recently funded a victim’s advocate program. "We are very excited about this opportunity,” said Rushin.
