OKW Extends UNITEC Dual-Face Plastic Enclosures Range

OKW has extended its UNITEC range of dual-face sloping front plastic enclosures with the new size ‘S’ series which is available in 12 different models. These highly attractive UNITEC enclosures have two operating faces for face-to-face applications, such as a doctor with a patient, or a sales person with a customer.

The new size ‘S’ enclosures will give electronics designers an even greater choice, enabling them to specify the perfect dual face housing for smaller devices.

OKW has extended its UNITEC range of dual-face sloping front plastic enclosures with the new size ‘S’ series which is available in 12 different models.

These highly attractive UNITEC enclosures have two operating faces for face-to-face applications, such as a doctor with a patient, or a sales person with a customer.

The two inclined operating panels are mounted at right angles to each other, allowing simultaneous input of data on one side and readout of the data on the other.

A user can input data via a keypad mounted on the sloping top surface while another person can read the display on the front surface.

UNITEC plastic enclosures also have the unique capability of being able to mount a full wraparound membrane keypad or label, making them ideal for these dual-face applications.

UNITEC enclosures are available with optional recess depths on the operating faces of 0.02” for graphic labels or 0.06” for membrane keypads.

The range has been designed to complement OKW’s other desktop and handheld instrument enclosures, giving electronics engineers a greater choice of standard plastic enclosures to suit their PCBs.

UNITEC enclosures are molded in off-white ABS (UL 94 HB) and consist of a top part, rear-facing front part and base panel. The case parts interlock and are secured by just two self-tapping screws.

The new size ‘S’ models have external dimensions of 4.92” x 6.96” x 2.71”/0.86”, offering a more compact solution to the existing size ‘M’ models which measure 5.82” x 8.26” x 3.14”/0.98”. They are a valuable new addition to OKW’s already wide range of ABS enclosures.

Both sizes of enclosures can be specified with a battery compartment for 3 or 5 1.5V AA battery cells. The battery compartment has a clip-on lid which can also be screw fixed for added security – typically required for medical applications.

Internal screw pillars enable the easy installation of PCBs and other electronic assemblies. Non-slip self-adhesive feet are available as an accessory.

UNITEC plastic enclosures can be used as desktop enclosures or they can be wall mounted. A simple to use wall-suspension element is available as an accessory, enabling the case to be mounted in different orientations. Prices start at $33.

OKW can supply any UNITEC plastic enclosure with additional holes for the push-buttons, connectors and displays, plus silk-screen printed legends and logos, and RFI/EMI shielding.
