Play Outdoors, a local company focused on getting kids outdoors, will be presenting sponsor of The Freshwater Trust's Healthy Waters Institute Students Speak: Watershed Summit on Thursday, May 13, 2010. Local students will present and share innovative watershed projects in art, science, videography and hands-on restoration. As presenting sponsor Play Outdoors, along with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, Wolftree and the Freshwater Trust create this day for students to share issues and stories in watershed health.

Students will present their findings and creations to peers and the community at McMenamins Old St. Francis School in Bend, Oregon. Play Outdoors CEO Sarah Laufer remarks, "I really believe in watershed and environmental education as it helps connect kids to their local, natural landscape. The Watershed Summit is just one way we like to support the community and our future generations. Through such ecologically-minded programs students are united both to the community and health of the land."

Play Outdoors strongly believes in the cause of the Watershed Summit and the initiatives of local students. "Play Outdoors is proud to sponsor this year's Watershed Summit to support the commitment made by students who spend the entire year researching and observing watershed maintenance and preservation techniques."

Play Outdoors strives to provide appropriate gear and kids outdoor clothing, share education and ideas, and enable community projects specifically with the objective of motivating kids to play outdoors and enjoy nature. The Watershed Summit is an example of an ideal collaborative effort and Play Outdoors congratulates this year's student participants.
