PlayCore’s annual participation in the National Recreation and Park Association Congress continued its ongoing leadership presence in Anaheim this October. Besides an 14,400 square foot display pavilion consisting of almost 9000 SF of exciting new play and recreation products, the company promoted play education, programming, and innovation in a variety of ways.
As the lead sponsor for the event, PlayCore contributed to many events and activities, including a party for all attendees at Disneyland with its GameTime brand. The company also celebrated the addition of Colorado Time Systems to its family of brands by bringing Olympic Gold Medalist and Swimming Ambassador Rowdy Gaines to the event to meet fans and sign autographs.
The company also provided, participated, or hosted three educational sessions that provided knowledge to attendees on the topics of partnerships, infusing play into pathway networks, and on making play a priority in communities.
One of the most meaningful events came in the form of a new playground, as the company provided equipment for a “leave behind” project for the NRPA Congress. The El Serano neighborhood playground, located in East Lost Angeles, provides a place for families to gather and play, along with a sensory garden, fitness equipment for adults, and many other amenities designed to promote outside activity. PlayCore partnered with the City of Los Angeles, The Trust for Public Land, NRPA, and other sponsors to create the space.
