PlayCore, the leading brand of play and recreation equipment in the US, promotes its mission and values through a variety of meaningful ways, including Days of Caring at each of the communities where their employees live, work, and play. In 2012, the PlayCore team helped local organizations in 10 communities, participating in a wide range of projects from food drives to fund raising to building new spaces to play and recreate.

Teams at each of PlayCore’s facilities consider a wide range of projects, then determine as a team where they can have the most impact. As an example, the team at Robertson Recreational Surfacing used their Roll Coat technology to refurbish a poured rubber surface at the Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix AZ, while the team at Dero, one of the newest members of the PlayCore family of brands utilized their expertise in the bike industry to provide bike adjustments for kids on National Bike to School Day. The teams have also installed new playgrounds, built homes through Habitat for Humanity, raised money for charitable organizations, provided healthy food options in underserved communities, and offered service through volunteer activities.

PlayCore Senior Vice President of Strategic Services, Lisa Moore stated, “PlayCore is driven by its mission and values, so giving back to the communities in which we live, work, and play is a very meaningful way that we can align with our goals as a company.” She continued, “All of our teams enjoy the process of discovering the most impactful way to help in their individual communities, teaming up to make it a reality, and then sharing outcomes with the other brands at PlayCore. Our Days of Caring unite us both personally and professionally.”

For the employees, the best part is seeing the smiles on the faces of people who are touched by the outreach. Whether it’s a new play space, a cleaned up park, or funds that make a holiday special, PlayCore takes great enjoyment in the knowledge that they have touched so many lives in a positive way.
