The Bay Area Discovery Museum will host its annual fundraiser Playdate: Jet Set to Rio at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at the Museum’s spectacular location at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Museum intends to raise more than $250,000 at its largest fundraiser of the year in support of its mission to ignite and advance creative thinking for all children.

Guests will embark upon a vintage aviation experience as they travel back to a 60’s themed arrival lounge where they will be welcomed by a captain and flight attendants. After getting their passports stamped, they will enter a Museum transformed into a Brazilian-themed Carnival complete with tropical foliage, a toucan, authentic samba dancers from Velocity Circus, and floats designed and created by the Museum’s young visitors. The festive night will continue with a live auction and raffle, delicious bites and drinks from Paula LeDuc Fine Catering, and dancing to DJ Mancub. Guests will include San Francisco & Marin parents, society mavens, community leaders, and local philanthropists.

“Building on the success of last year’s Urban Circus Spectacular Playdate, we intend to showcase the creativity and fun at the heart of our mission, while raising necessary funds to extend our impact into communities with the greatest need,” said Karyn Flynn, CEO.

Tickets begin at $350 and are available at http://www.BayKidsMuseum.org/Playdate.
