PLAYER MAP, the creator of PLAYER MAP X-Ray, an online visual sales plan, announces the launch of a weekly comic strip named Opal as a free iPhone app.

Scott Leland, PLAYER MAP president and author of the cartoon, created Opal to poke fun at outdated but still common sales notions. Opal is a "sales diva" who unleashes her incisive wit on old-school selling methods. The ensemble cast also features the character Larry, who is trapped in time defining sales in the mythical "good old days," and Miles, a sharp character who is new to sales and challenges the status quo. The strip features the art of Stan Yan, of Squid Works Comics.

"In today's tense, politically correct and, at times, too serious business world, salespeople are looking for ways to learn that are fun and high tech," said Leland, president of PLAYER MAP. "Opal gives salespeople a laugh for the edge they need to sell, sell, sell in a light-hearted comic strip that's easy to access using the ubiquitous iPhone."

Once iPhone users download the free Opal - Sales Diva Comic Strip from iTunes, it will automatically load every Wednesday for the year. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. It requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
