Georgia Perimeter College Picks TenStep as Global Partner for Project Management Program

GPC has partnered with TenStep, Inc. an international company specializing in business methodology development, consultation and training. The partnership will bring more options to the GPC Continuing Education project management line-up.

There's a large demand for trained project managers in industries ranging from banking to information technology to architecture because these professionals help make companies more efficient and effective.

The Georgia Perimeter College Center for Continuing and Corporate Education now offers students the power and expertise of a global leader in project management.

GPC has partnered with TenStep, Inc. an international company specializing in business methodology development, consultation and training. The partnership will bring more options to the GPC Continuing Education project management line-up. In addition to the current project management fundamentals and project management professional exam preparation courses already offered, GPC will now have the ability to offer classes in Microsoft Project, the industry standard project management software, along with many other project management classes including project risk and quality management.

"Project management is a skill that crosses all industries and businesses," said Wally Weihe, director of corporate education at Georgia Perimeter College. "There's a large demand for trained project managers in industries ranging from banking to information technology to architecture because these professionals help make companies more efficient and effective."

TenStep has more than 45 offices worldwide and is supported in more than 20 languages. TenStep clients include DuPont, John Deere, Fujitsu, Herman-Miller and numerous city and state government offices.

Project management fundamentals will be offered every other month on Saturdays beginning in February from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for the course is $1,725. Project Management Professional certification exam preparation will be offered every other month on Saturdays beginning in March from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for the exam prep course is $1,595. Each course covers four Saturdays, and courses are eligible for Professional Development Unit credit hours from the Project Management Institute. Additional project management classes will be announced in 2009.
