PNC to host live video chat for teachers and students on Dec. 17 at 10:30 a.m. EST, with a panel of experts on investing and the economy available to answer questions in real-time.

Each year, we receive feedback from teachers that the PNC Christmas Price Index is a welcome teaching tool during the final weeks before winter break

PNC will host a live video chat for teachers, students and other visitors to The PNC Christmas Price Index Web site, http://www.pncchristmaspriceindex.com, on Dec. 17. The PNC Christmas Price Index is a whimsical economic analysis by PNC Wealth Management based on the cost of gifts in the holiday classic ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas.’ Details for the Live Chat can be found below.

“Each year, we receive feedback from teachers that the PNC Christmas Price Index is a welcome teaching tool during the final weeks before winter break,” said Jim Dunigan, managing executive of investments for PNC Wealth Management. “Those teachers and students have the opportunity to log-in to this year’s live chat and receive real-time answers to their questions about the Index from a panel of experts on investing and the economy.”

Who: Jim Dunigan, managing executive of investments, PNC Wealth Management, Stu Hoffman, chief economist, PNC, and Joelle Keats, economics teacher, North Allegheny High School, will be available to answer questions.

The 26th annual Christmas Price Index rose 1.8 percent in 2009. Drivers for the Christmas Price Index increase included the price of the Seven Swans-a-Swimming; gold prices hitting resulting in gold rings rising 43 percent; and another increase in the minimum wage, which provided a second consecutive raise for the Maids-a-Milking.
