Datum helped to give the Watertown Police Department a new storage system to match their new building.

“Both the MobileTrak® and the 4Post™ Shelving are unique products on their own, but when combined, create a customized solution able to meet the various needs of the Watertown Police Department,” said Thomas Potter, President of Datum Filing.

The Watertown Police Department has recently completed construction of their new building. In contrast to this new space, the department’s former freestanding shelving proved to be less than adequate for keeping important files organized and protected. Datum, who worked in conjunction with SYSTEMATICS (http://www.systematics.biz), a Datum Authorized Reseller, helped to create a customized storage solution with safety, convenience and security in mind.

The Watertown Police Department’s storage now features Datum’s MobileTrak® system that utilizes 4Post™ Shelving. The unique grout-less design of the MobileTrak® allowed for the units to be easily modified to fit into an existing track system installed in the floor of the building. Working together, the MobileTrak® and 4Post™ Shelving provide ample storage space for the police department’s evidence, archival records and active files.

The MobileTrak® is a versatile storage system designed for growing organizations as the system is able to be expanded to accommodate future storage capacity requirements. Unlike traditional shelving, the MobileTrak® eliminates the need for aisles which reduces space requirements for shelving by 50 percent. It features integrated, programmable transponder keys so that security privileges can be assigned to allow or prevent staff from accessing certain stored materials. Datum’s 4Post™ Shelving comes in a wide selection of sizes and helped to create a custom solution for maximum storage capacity. The 4Post™ Shelves have the unique ability for dual entry, allowing users to store and access materials on both sides of a single unit. This function saved the police department money and valuable floor space.

“Both the MobileTrak® and the 4Post™ Shelving are unique products on their own, but when combined, create a customized solution able to meet the various needs of the Watertown Police Department,” said Thomas Potter, President of Datum Filing.

With the new MobileTrak® and 4Post™ Shelving, the Watertown Police Department improved the organization of their materials and now has ample capacity with room to grow. Datum worked with SYSTEMATICS (http://www.systematics.biz), a Datum Authorized Reseller to complete this customized project.
