I think we need to be better shoppers and know who we are sending to Washington.
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) September 18, 2012
For the first time ever, Ohio voters can comparison shop for their congressional candidates via a new, easy-to-use, innovative website.
PolitiView is a one-stop, information platform specially designed to bring the campaign directly to voters based on where they live. The company has selected Ohio, a critical battleground state, to roll out its new video-only service. PolitiView features candidates from all sixteen congressional races, as well as Ohio’s US Senate campaign.
“The voter is the customer in elections, but until now, our political communications system has not been organized to help the voter prepare for and make the best voting decisions,” said Susan Nightingale, founder and president of PolitiView.
Voters by the millions are on the web searching for political information. But it’s too diffuse and disorganized to be of much help. Unlike the current system, which is not designed for the end-user, PolitiView has been built with the voter in mind, providing relevant and organized information in one easy-to-use, powerful Web platform.
On PolitiView, voters simply type their address to see a list of all the current races based on where they live. It’s a vital Web 2.0 benefit because in most cases voters don’t know what district they live in or the names of the people running for office. This is an especially important feature in a year of re-districting.
Voters can click on a race and see all the candidates running – and make an informed, comparison-shopping decision. Each candidate gallery includes up to 20 videos, along with a dashboard that provides web links to the candidate’s online assets, such as social media sites and donation pages.
PolitiView is nonpartisan and does not create any content. Content comes directly from the campaigns or public websites.
“Polls show that most of us are unhappy with Congress. I think we need to be better shoppers and know who we are sending to Washington,” explains Nightingale. “Our vision is to help voters make crucial political decisions with greater confidence. PolitiView is really a talking ballot. Voters can watch videos and effortlessly compare each candidate in a race. At PolitiView, we make politics impossibly easy.”
PolitiView is the Web’s first video marketplace and comparison shopping site for politics that puts the voter in charge. Unlike other information sources, PolitiView provides comparison shopping and context; and brings the campaign directly to voters in the easy video format they know and have come to expect in today’s online world. Campaigns, political parties, special issue groups and ballot measure organizations supply a wide range of video content to better inform voters. Voters can watch, analyze and comparison shop in the political realm – just like they do for any other important purchase decision. Website content is supplied by campaigns, and voters access the site for free. PolitiView is nonpartisan. For more information, visit http://www.PolitiView.com or call 888-947-8439.
