PossibleNOW offers Do Not Call compliance solution for telemarketers who place calls to Canadian consumers. Canada's new Do Not Call laws go into effect on September 30, 2008.

Although the new Canadian legislation is very similar to the US Do Not Call laws, there are differences

PossibleNOW, the leading provider of privacy solutions including Do Not Call compliance, announced that its DNCSolution™ and DNCQuickcheck™ services have been enhanced to enable direct marketers to fully comply with the new Canadian Do Not Call List. The Canadian DNCL is expected to launch on September 30, 2008.

PossibleNOW's DNCSolution suite of online services provides comprehensive tools that help direct marketers meet the safe harbor requirements of the US and Canadian laws. Over 7,000 seller companies and tens of thousands of individual agents and professionals, use DNCSolution to scrub more than 2 billion phone numbers each quarter. Direct marketers who place calls to Canadian consumers can use DNCSolution or DNCQuickcheck to fully comply with all aspects of the new Canadian laws.

"Although the new Canadian legislation is very similar to the US Do Not Call laws, there are differences," comments Scott Frey, President & CEO of PossibleNOW. "Our experience in providing Do Not Call compliance solutions spans more than eight years. We leveraged our expertise to quickly respond when Canada announced its telemarketing legislation. Our DNCSolution and DNCQuickcheck services are ready to provide full compliance as soon as the new Canadian Do Not Call List goes into effect. Companies who place calls to both US and Canadian consumers will find that our solutions help solve the complexity of managing compliance with two different sets of laws."

Frey continues, "Many direct marketers may not realize that Do Not Call compliance in both the United States and Canada goes well beyond scrubbing phone numbers. For instance, direct marketers must maintain a company-specific Do Not Call list, and in Canada, you must also track a name along with the phone number. There are also rules in Canada regarding contacting customers and prospects using the established business relationship exemption. Both DNCSolution and DNCQuickcheck have been enhanced to support these new Canadian laws and enable companies to take advantage of all available exemptions."

DNCSolution provides high volume call list scrubbing. DNCQuickcheck, which can be used in conjunction with DNCSolution or as a stand-alone service, is ideal for branch offices or individuals. DNCQuickcheck allows users to verify the Do Not Call status of a phone number one at a time, or to "cut & paste" lists of phone numbers. With either solution, PossibleNOW provides training and ongoing support. CompliancePoint, a PossibleNOW company, offers consulting and audit services.

PossibleNOW has already conducted Webinars to help direct marketers understand the new Canadian Do Not Call laws and what they must do to comply. Another round of educational Webinars is planned for later in September.
