As a new report reveals the average value of a wedding gift list may be as high as £1,900, Post Office Home Insurance is offering extra peace of mind by increasing home contents insurance cover for its customers during family weddings.
With an estimated 70 per cent of couples registering a gift list with department stores or wedding list specialists, Post Office Home Insurance recognises that brides and husbands to be may find they have more valuables in their homes than normal, as gifts are stored at home both in advance and after the wedding. Post Office Home Insurance understands that the risk of theft or accidental damage to valuables that aren't explicitly covered by an existing home insurance policy could be an unwanted concern in the run-up to the big day.
To help alleviate any worries, Post Office Home Insurance automatically increases the level of home contents insurance cover for its customers by 10 per cent at no extra cost. The 10 per cent increase in home contents insurance cover is valid for two months in total, and is effective for one month either side of the wedding day.
In addition to family weddings, the 10 per cent home contents insurance cover increase is also valid at Christmas and over other religious festivals. The home insurance increase over the Christmas period applies from 1 December to 31 December.
