Whether people are gearing up for the holiday hiring season, or want top tips to help them land that perfect job, this will be a great PowerTalk to attend,

The Springboard Academy, a professional development company that helps companies achieve a competitive edge, today announced that leading Seattle-area hiring experts are the featured panelists for a PowerTalk on December 4, “Hiring Insights from the Other Side of the Desk.” The hiring and recruiting leaders will share their tips and techniques for getting a job -- from submitting effective resumes to ‘acing’ the interview.

The PowerTalk panel includes Deanna Heinrich, Director of Human Resources for Fisher Communications, Cindi Bright, SPHR, Director of Human Resources at Russell Investments, and Jon Jenks-Bauer, SPHR, HR Manager of Recruitment at RealNetworks. Springboard Academy Co-founder Suzanne Keel-Eckmann, a recent Director at Deloitte, will moderate the panel discussion.    

“Whether people are gearing up for the holiday hiring season, or want top tips to help them land that perfect job, this will be a great PowerTalk to attend,” said Margo Myers, Springboard Academy Executive Director. “We’re bringing in panelists with years of hiring and recruiting experience, willing to share their insider secrets to help people present themselves in the best light.”

As Fisher Communications’ HR Director, Heinrich works with employees at 20 TV and 3 radio stations in 4 western states. She has held HR positions at the Washington State Liquor Control Board, Shurgard & Public Storage, and NEXTEL. Heinrich is also the current Chairwoman for the University of Washington Alumnae Board (UWAB), and serves on the Northwest Human Resource Association (NHRMA) Board as the Professional Development Director.

Bright is the HR Director at Russell Investments at the company’s headquarters in Seattle. Previously, she was a Senior Associate for Career Horizons, and held HR positions with Genoa Healthcare, Safeco Insurance and Weyerhaeuser. Bright is currently obtaining her MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.

Jenks-Bauer, is the HR Manager of Recruitment at RealNetworks, previously holding related positions at Swedish Medical Center and Washington Mutual (now JP Morgan Chase), and in higher education. He is a board member of Staffing Management Association of Seattle, a SHRM-affiliated professional organization dedicated to professional education for the Recruiting and Staffing community.

Moderating the expert panel will be Keel-Eckmann, who also has years of hiring experience during her tenure as a Director at Deloitte. “We want people to have the information they need to be successful in this job market,” said Keel-Eckmann. “Our panelists will share their best advice for successfully navigating the hiring process.”

The Springboard Academy empowers the business community through education, training courses and workshops in the Pacific Northwest. Free PowerTalks are held once a month at the Springboard Academy facility on the 5th floor at 6100 4th Ave. South, Seattle, Washington, from 5:30 – 8pm.
