The new online division will sit alongside the traditional PR support offered by Rhizome PR, which focuses largely on brand-building within the mainstream consumer and trade media (print, online and broadcast). Its primary focus will be link-building and optimising client websites organically through a number of content-based strategies.
"Essentially," says Dominic Hiatt, a director at the firm, "online pr is about making companies more visible online by building their web presence and boosting their search engine ranking in ways other than through traditional media.
"Depending on the client, it could include direct-to-consumer news releases, podcasts, vodcasts, blog management and blogosphere monitoring, online media room management and viral campaigns. But the overall focus will always be on making them more 'findable', which drives traffic and therefore sales. And because online PR activity is easily measurable, clients can very quickly see whether they're getting results."
As with its traditional PR offering, Rhizome PR will not tie clients into contracts, which gives companies flexibility and peace of mind -- especially attractive in the current market.
