At least 150 claims are pending in the Pradaxa litigation underway in the Southern District of Illinois. Plaintiffs allege that the blood thinning medication caused serious and fatal bleeding in users, and that Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals failed to warn patients of its risks, including the lack of a reversal agent to counteract Pradaxa bleeding. In a Case Management Order dated October 19, 2012, U.S. District Judge David Herndon set August 11, 2014 as the date of the Pradaxa litigation’s first bellwether trial.**

Pradaxa, which is used to prevent strokes in people with a heart-rhythm disorder known as atrial fibrillation, was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2010. According to a recent Bloomberg report, the FDA received reports of 542 deaths and 3,781 side-effect incidents tied to the drug in 2011. The Institute of Safe Medication Practices has also reported that Pradaxa has generated more reports of injury or death than any of the 800 drugs it monitors.***

Victims of serious Pradaxa side effects may be eligible to collect compensation for their medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and more. To learn more about filing a Pradaxa lawsuit, please visit our website, or call 1-877-779-1414 to speak with one of our attorneys today.
