Precision Software, a leading provider of supply chain execution software for importers, exporters, domestic shippers, transportation providers and business services companies, and a division of QAD Inc. (Nasdaq: QADI), announced today that Jabil After-Market Services (AMS) has successfully deployed the PRECISION Parcel Shipping solution to manage its global shipping requirements. Jabil AMS is a division of Jabil Inc, which provides electronic design, manufacturing and repair services to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Since implementing the PRECISION solution, Jabil AMS has seen a significant reduction in the processing time per shipment, enabling them to control costs during high growth and resulting in a go-forward annual savings of $1.8 million in shipment processing costs.

The ability to streamline processes and transition employees into more value-added activities by implementing this solution has helped Jabil AMS controls costs in the unpredictable logistics environment.

Jabil AMS was faced with the challenge of becoming more responsive, adaptive and accountable to their OEM customers' needs to ship to end consumers around the world via a variety of small parcel carriers. They needed a single, global transportation system that could flexibly support their growing domestic and international business while keeping up with existing and new customer programs.

Jabil chose Precision Software because of the agility and flexibility of PRECISION Parcel Shipping, which allowed for the solution to be centrally located, globally deployed in a rapid timeframe, and easily integrated with their existing enterprise software and warehouse management solutions. The company saw an almost immediate return on investment when processing time per shipment dropped from 90 seconds on average to 10 seconds per shipment. Additionally as their business grew, the savings have also continued to increase to a current level of approximately $7,000 per day. Jabil has already scaled its use of the Precision parcel solution to support more than 20 customers with over 30,000 packages per day.

"PRECISION Parcel Shipping has allowed Jabil to keep direct labor in the shipping area efficient and lean, while supporting a centralized solution that can be rapidly deployed to take on new customer programs and activity," said Erik Carlson, Senior Director of IT for Jabil AMS. "The ability to streamline processes and transition employees into more value-added activities by implementing this solution has helped Jabil AMS controls costs in the unpredictable logistics environment."

A number of risks and uncertainties could cause actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements. These risks include, but are not limited to, evolving demand for the company's software products and products that operate with the company's products; the company's ability to sustain license and service demand; the company's ability to leverage changes in technology; the company's ability to sustain customer renewal rates at current levels; the publication of opinions by industry and financial analysts about the company, its products and technology; the reliability of estimates of transaction and integration costs and benefits; the entry of new competitors or new offerings by existing competitors and the associated announcement of new products and technological advances by them; delays in localizing the company's products for new or existing markets; the ability to recruit and retain key personnel; delays in sales as a result of lengthy sales cycles; changes in operating expenses, pricing, timing of new product releases, the method of product distribution or product mix; timely and effective integration of newly acquired businesses; general economic conditions; exchange rate fluctuations; and, the global political environment. In addition, revenue and earnings in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software industry are subject to fluctuations. Given the high margins associated with license revenue, modest fluctuations can have a substantial impact on net income. Investors should not use any one quarter's results as a benchmark for future performance.
