As San Francisco’s specialist on erectile dysfunction and male impotence, Advanced Male Medical Center is discussing the results of a randomized trail concerning erectile function after a prostate removal. During the 12-week study, 30 patients were separated into two groups. The first group received three alprostadil injections per week, while the second group received none. The study appeared in the Journal of Urology at http://www.jurology.com/.

The result showed that the early administration of alprostadil injections during the postoperative period after a nerve-sparing radical retropubic prostatectomy significantly increased the recovery rate of spontaneous erections. Specifically, 67 percent of patients in group one recovered erectile function, compared to only 20 percent in group two.

“It is our belief that vasoactive injections programmed cavernous oxygenation, thereby limiting the development of hypoxia-induced tissue damage,” Larry Stephens of Advanced Male Medical Center said.

Regardless of the cause, Advanced Male Medical Center specializes in erectile dysfunction and male impotence. Erectile dysfunction may also be the result of medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, psychological issues like trauma, or a combination of both medical and psychological factors. It is important to pinpoint the cause and treat the underlying conditions.

“We treat patients who suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular disease, prostate problems, high blood pressure and every other type of condition that can cause blood flow problems, which in turn can cause problems such as erectile dysfunction,” Stephens said.
