We are excited that the new PGiConnect community is a place where developers and Premiere Global employees can create, write and share applications using the communications technologies available via the Premiere Global Communications Operating System (PGiCOS)
ATLANTA (PRWEB) October 16, 2008
"Social networks and Web 2.0 tools are enabling collaboration in ways not possible just a few years ago. Forward-thinking firms are tapping this to drive diversity and robustness in application development, shortening the time-to-market as a direct result," according to Dave Evans, author of "Social Media Marketing" and Strategy Director, Social Media, FG SQUARED. PGiConnect allows developers to share knowledge in a virtual workspace that embraces ideation and collaboration using Web 2.0 tools. PGiConnect was built using Clearspace Community from Jive Software Inc. with enhanced search and tagging capabilities embedded within the site and a social networking forum to facilitate closer collaboration between participants. A profile-oriented site, PGiConnect allows users to upload and share multimedia content, blog, engage in collaborative exchange via wiki and subscribe to podcasts sponsored by Premiere Global. A reputation-based ranking system is built into the site and community members may choose their communication options such as RSS content feeds along with email and RSS notification services capabilities.
The API Suite allows organizations to leverage their existing CRM and ERP platforms to automate traditional business processes and create new ways to communicate with employees, customers and constituents via a SaaS offering. Because the API Suite encompasses multiple APIs, developers are able to combine delivery modalities to create traditional, composite or mashup applications. Based on Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Extensive Markup Language (XML), the API Suite offers flexible solutions and application delivery in short time frames. The PGiConnect API Suite enables:
Automated account management. Message delivery integrated directly into business applications using voice, SMS, email and fax technologies. Fast and secure document conversion and delivery. Cost-effective solutions with no client-side hardware or software investment. The ability to submit traffic to alternate domains for failover and redundancy. "We are excited that the new PGiConnect community is a place where developers and Premiere Global employees can create, write and share applications using the communications technologies available via the Premiere Global Communications Operating System (PGiCOS)," said David Guthrie, CTO, Premiere Global Services, Inc. "Focused on being a clearinghouse for developers to create applications for new markets, new verticals and new niches, PGiConnect will provide a workspace for outside developers to collaborate and promote their ideas and applications with each other and with the Premiere Global team."
