More Than $5000 in Cash and Products from Green Your School Grant Partners Support Projects Teaching Kids to Take an Active Role in Protecting the Planet and Their Health

Applications for 2011 Episencial’s Green Your School Grant program are being accepted now through November 30, 2011.

Today, Episencial, the first skincare company to create authentically green and all natural products for the health of babies, kids and the planet proudly announces the winners of the 2010 Green Your School Grant program: Ivybrook Academy of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Village Tree Preschool of Los Angeles. More than a dozen schools and programs competed for the grants supporting student-related projects that teach green concepts benefiting the school environment.

Ivybrook Academy’s winning project “4G: Grow Green; Give Generously” is designed to provide children with hands-on experiences in both a green lifestyle and giving back to the community. The Green Your School Grant will go toward the purchase of a greenhouse, allowing the students to grow fresh fruits and vegetables year round for both themselves and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

The only preschool in the nation serving terminally and chronically ill parents, Village Tree Preschool will be using their Green Your School Grant to expand their gardening program for students and embrace organic practices at their new location. The produce grown at these gardens will not only feed the children at the school, but ailing parents and caregivers at home.

Each school will be granted all three components of the Episencial Green Your School Grant:
1. $250 cash towards their submission project
2. $500 of Episencial good-for-you skincare products
3. $500 of eco-friendly products from each Green Your School Grant co-sponsors: CleanWell, Eco-Kids and Revolution Foods, delivered to their doors by Ecomom.

“Viva la vivid green generation!” said Kim Walls, M.S. and CEO of Episencial. “Ivybrook Academy and Village Tree Preschool are tapping into the power of the planet to promote the education and health of their students – the precise intention of the Green Your School Grant program. Other programs across the country can take inspiration from these two schools; I encourage all to submit projects for consideration.” Applications for 2011 Episencial’s Green Your School Grant program are being accepted now through November 30, 2011. The application form and guidelines for submission are available at http://www.episencial.com/grant.
