Magazines.com Features Titles for Presidents' Day

Share Article

Originally celebrated as Washington's Birthday, Presidents' Day is the federal holiday observed on the third Monday of February to honor Washington, Lincoln and other notable presidents of the United States.

This year Presidents' Day is February 16. Presidents' Day, or Washington's Birthday as it is known in many states, is the first federal holiday to recognize an American citizen; the holiday was first enacted in the District of Columbia and later became a federal holiday in 1885.

In 1976 the holiday was moved to the third Monday in February in order to also honor Abraham Lincoln, who was born on February 12. In recent years many states have broadened the scope of the holiday to include honoring all U.S. presidents.

To help celebrate this patriotic holiday, online magazine retailer Magazines.com will feature a variety of magazine subscriptions for $10 and under.

Featured magazine titles include:

Auto and Outdoor Titles: Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Motor Trend

Home and Parenting Titles: FamilyFun, Parents and Sunset

Fashion and Women's Titles: Woman's Day, Marie Claire, Good Housekeeping, Teen Vogue and Nylon
