To fare so well in both of these studies this year is a huge win for the Jaguar brand. It goes to show that Jaguar cars are not only visually appealing, but also well-built, fun and rewarding to drive.

Jaguar cars, sold at Prestige Jaguar Land Rover, recently finished second among automotive brands sold in the U.S. in J.D. Power and Associates’ 2012 APEAL study. According to jdpower.com, APEAL is a customer satisfaction survey administered after the first 90 days of ownership that details what 74,000 U.S. new car buyers like about their cars. Jaguar Land Rover models receiving individual recognition in the survey included the Jaguar XJ and the Range Rover Evoque.
Essential in achieving Jaguar’s overall rating was the individual performance of the Jaguar XJ. According to a Jaguar press release, the luxury sedan, which finished second in the “Large Premium Car” category, was one of only three vehicles industry wide to receive an APEAL score above 900. Thanks in large part to the Evoque’s high marks, Land Rover finished not far behind Jaguar in the brand rankings, coming in at number six of the 34 brands reviewed.
For the APEAL study, consumers rate their vehicles based on over 80 vehicle attributes in the following eight categories: cockpit/instrument panel; comfort/convenience; engine/transmission; heating, ventilation and cooling; ride, handling and braking; seats; sound system; and styling/exterior.
In many ways, APEAL is the antithesis of J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study (IQS), which rates vehicles based on the number of problems in new vehicles within the first 90 days (the “things gone wrong” report, as opposed to the “things gone right” report). Jaguar experienced the most improvement of any brand in this year’s IQS, again finishing in second place among all auto brands sold in the U.S., according to a press release at jdpower.com.
“To fare so well in both of these studies this year is a huge win for the Jaguar brand,” said Prestige Jaguar Land Rover General Sales Manager Greg Fioretti. “It goes to show that Jaguar cars are not only visually appealing, but also well-built, fun and rewarding to drive.”
The 2012 Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover’s newest model, finished first in the “Entry Premium Crossover SUV” category in its first year in the APEAL Study. Receiving high ratings for fuel economy, style and performance, the Evoque outpaced its competition, which included the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.
With both brands having over 60 years of distinguished heritage to draw upon, it’s no surprise that all Jaguar cars and Land Rover SUVs are built to the loftiest standards of performance and luxury. Customers interested in a Land Rover purchase or a Jaguar lease should contact General Sales Manager Greg Fioretti at (201) 987-8900 to schedule a sales appointment and a test drive.
