Dr. Lawrence Hoberman, a practicing gastroenterologist, developed the probiotic EndoMune six years ago to help his patients treat their digestion problems.

I became very interested in the importance of the healthy balance of the intestinal bacteria in maintaining the normal intestinal functions..., so in 2005 I started working with a PhD microbiologist and developed a probiotic called EndoMune.

On July 1, 2007, San Antonio-based gastroenterologist Dr. Lawrence Hoberman, with the help of a microbiologist, created a probiotic supplement called EndoMune. Six years later, still the only physician-created supplement of its kind, EndoMune Advanced for adults and EndoMune Junior for children have changed thousands of lives and improved their overall daily health.

Probiotic supplements are healthy bacteria that can decrease inflammation and increase immune activity. There are major differences in the number, strains and species of probiotic bacteria in every supplement. EndoMune is the only one that has been developed by a board-certified gastroenterologist.

While most over-the-counter probiotics provide between 1 and 10 billion bacteria, each serving of EndoMune contains 16 billion live bacterial cells of Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli and Streptococcus, the main health-enhancing species. Most supplements only feature Lactobacillus and Bifida bacteria; however, Hoberman’s formula has 10 different varieties of bacteria designed to complement each other, enhancing their growth and improving digestion.

During his more than 40-year practice, Hoberman has seen thousands of patients with ongoing gastrointestinal concerns such as bloating, gas and diarrhea. Despite a variety of tests, a diagnosis couldn’t be identified to explain many of their symptoms.

For many years, he told patients they had Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), giving them some relief that they had no life threatening illness. However, there was no specific effective therapy to ease their ongoing symptoms. Then he learned about probiotics.

“I knew there must be something else that could be the cause of their symptoms,” said Hoberman. “I became very interested in the importance of the healthy balance of the intestinal bacteria in maintaining the normal intestinal functions of digestion, immunity and motility, so in 2005 I started working with a PhD microbiologist and developed a probiotic called EndoMune.”

Today, EndoMune is referred to patients by physicians throughout the nation as one of the best probiotics to help treat IBS, traveler’s diarrhea, side effects from antibiotics, childhood allergies like eczema, infantile colic, and stomach flu. It can also be purchased at several San Antonio pharmacies, on the product’s website Endomune.com and through Amazon.com.

“My teenage daughter has suffered from chronic constipation issues ever since she was little,” said customer Lori Trevino. “I've taken her to see a specialist and tried other probiotics on her, and none of them have really worked. Thankfully she started seeing a registered and licensed dietitian who recommended EndoMune. Two days after starting it, my daughter saw AMAZING results. She fell to her knees and cried tears of joy because she felt so much better and her stomach didn't hurt. Every single day she tells me how happy she is that this probiotic works.”
