San Francisco Bay Area branding and design firm, Project6 Design, has completed its branding and design work for the 2012 World Affairs Conference - Navigating in a Shifting Global Landscape. The agency has been working with the World Affairs Council of Northern California (WAC) for the past four years on their conference branding and marketing collateral design.
Several years ago, WAC came to Project6 with a marketing communications problem suffered by many: too many print pieces, created over too long, by too many different vendors. Back in 2008, the challenge was to re-tool the brand image, concentrating on clarity of message, clean modern design, and above all consistency. The Project6 team used their unique process of design discovery, which includes mood boards and brand personality exercises, to establish a new direction to reflect the non-profit’s true colors. They then moved on to rethink the branding and design for the council’s general marketing materials and created an updated look and feel for the print collateral pieces moving forward. The new marketing collateral reflected the serious nature of the organization, while at the same time showcased their dynamic brand character.
After Project6 Design’s success in the print collateral updates, they moved onto updating the branding and design for the annual WorldAffairs conference. WorldAffairs is a conference event designed for all global citizens who care about the world in which we live and want deeper insight, understanding and context surrounding critical issues of the day to weigh choices, seize opportunities and seek solutions. Project6 took these ideals to heart, and created a design direction for the Conference that spoke directly to WAC’s broad audience of ‘global citizens’, while establishing an overarching brand look and feel that could be utilized and updated in the years to come. In this vein, Project6 developed the WorldAffairs 2012 direct mail print designs and worked to create email design templates and other marketing materials that would set a cohesive statement for this year’s conference.
“Working on the WorldAffairs 2012 conference has been very rewarding for our team over the years,” said Esten Sesto, president and founder of Project6 Design. “We truly believe in supporting great causes and always strive to work in the non-profit sector. In addition to offering reduced rates for non-profit organizations, a portion of our work each year has been ‘in-kind’ allowing Project6 Design another way to contribute to the causes supported by WAC. We find that clean, clear marketing materials that truly connect with an audience are more important than ever in today’s ultra-competitive landscape. I think having such a long standing relationship with WAC demonstrates that, as an agency, we understand our success is based upon our client’s success. All signs point to this year’s conference selling out and matching or exceeding last year’s number in attendance. We are really proud to be part of such a consistently great event.”
