Opening of Orlando Facility Increases Regional Services and Reduces Costs for Wholesale Customers

Wagner Media is investing in the high-tech equipment our customers want.

Whenever large groups of people gather -- trade shows, corporate exhibitions, sporting events, religious events, etc. -- there’s a good chance their A/V company has rented at least some of the projection equipment from wholesaler Wagner Media. And to better service Orlando’s large convention and event market, Wagner Media recently opened a 10,000-square-foot facility here.

President and CEO Wayne Wagner says having equipment nearby an event is both convenient and cost effective for event planners. By avoiding freight shipping charges for projectors, screens, and other gear, renters save about 30%. And customers also appreciate the convenience of knowing they can just run down the street if they drop a lens, need different equipment due to a set-up change, or just need help running their equipment.

While the convention industry has slowed due to the economy, it’s still huge. In fact, a recent study based on 2009 figures showed $263 billion in spending -- and direct support for 1.7 million jobs.* Yet Wagner notes most AV companies haven’t kept up with the demand for high-quality equipment: “Companies are still spending money and doing shows, but AV companies aren’t investing in equipment. We’re investing in the high-tech equipment our customers want, including Barco HDX-14 projectors and Draper FocalPoint and StageScreen screens.”

Wagner Media is one of the few companies in the industry that specializes in the wholesale, or cross rental, business -- so instead of supplying directly to companies exhibiting at events they supply to A/V companies hiring those company’s needs. In some cases, the equipment is too expensive for those A/V companies to carry in their inventory. In other cases, those companies find themselves needing parts at the last minute.

Wagner and his staff are excited to be in Orlando because it’s a regional hub that will allow them to enhance their 24/7 service offering -- and cut down on shipping charges, a big savings for their customers. ”The opening of the Orlando market greatly enhances our 24/7 ability to service our wholesalers,” notes Wagner. “Whether they’re in a pinch for parts or the equipment they need is too expensive to offer in their inventory, Wagner media can help -- and now more efficiently than ever before.” The new location at 2100 Principal Row, Suite 402, is just 10 minutes from the Orlando Convention Center.

Wagner Media’s grand opening includes an exhibit at the upcoming InfoComm show in Orlando, June 15-17. They’ll showcase top lines including Barco, Eiki, Sharp and Draper’s new FocalPoint® Portable Projection Screen. With more than 300 educational seminars, workshops and labs focusing on technology, trends and best practices in the industry, InfoComm is a great way to see the latest and best audio-visual equipment available. Wagner Media will be at booth 4158.
