Synthpop Singer-Songwriter davidmahr Releases New Single “Relentless”
Proponents of traditional marriage reignite davidmahr’s passion for equal rights.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 4, 2009 -- Singer-songwriter davidmahr has released his new dance single, Relentless, an anthem to highlight the hypocrisy of California’s Proposition 8 and Maine’s Proposition 1.

'Relentless', his first solo project in more than a decade, focused on lyrics and melodies that evoke movement and provoke discussion. “It was all about the lyrics," says davidmahr. “I wrote the original version of the song with my producers and The Innosynths a number of years ago. The irony of the song became a catch phrase whenever we discussed Prop 8. And then audacity of Prop 1 happened! Suddenly, a song that we’d been kicking around for years found its meaning, its home.”
The recent recording has led to a full collection of mixes to engage and enrage every listener. “I was very upset about the passage of Prop 8, and then the indignation of Prop 1," davidmahr says. "This was my way to express my frustration." He adds, "While a lot of the song is certainly an indication of the scare tactics used to pass Prop 8, it was still important to me to leave people with a positive message - that things don’t have to stay the same, that things will get better.”
The collection of super-charged dance music features remixes by davidmahr, Synthetik FM and Markymix (erasure, electrode, and haberdashery). Bonus tracks 'Flight' and 'Stairway' are also included.
A singer-songwriter for nearly two decades, davidmahr has been a maverick in the out and proud world of synthpop music. During the 90’s he served as front man for synthpop band, The Innosynths (formerly, The Innocents), where he gained respectable notoriety for electronic dance sounds synonymous with the club-dance era.
