Both Amica Mutual Insurance Co. and Amica Life Insurance Co. have been named to the 2010 Ward’s 50 top performing insurance companies based on their “outstanding results” over the past five years.
This is the fourth time Amica Life has made the life-health list (2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010) and Amica Mutual is honored by returning to the property-casualty list of top performers this year.
Amica was one of only six companies to be named to both the life-health and the property-casualty Ward 50 groups of companies.
“We are thrilled to receive such extraordinary recognition in our industry,” said Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica Mutual Insurance Co. “We’ve worked hard to retain our company’s financial strength and security during the most uncertain of economic times, without losing site of our commitment to providing outstanding customer service each and every day. We’re grateful that the Ward Group has recognized our efforts by naming Amica Mutual and Amica Life to the lists of top performing insurance companies for 2010.”
The Ward Group is a trusted leader of benchmarking and best practices for the insurance industry. It also analyzes the financial performance of thousands of insurance companies across the country. Each year, the Ward Group identifies the top 50 performers in two different categories -- life-health and property-casualty. These companies are referred to as the Ward's 50 Top Performers. To make the list, each company must have achieved superior results in safety, consistency and financial performance over a five-year period.
“We maintain our financial strength through sound business practices and efficient operations,” DiMuccio said. “That’s important for our customers, who can rest assured knowing that Amica will be there when they need us.”
