Prophecy’s three web-based assessments tools – Behavioral, Clinical, and Situational - which test interpersonal competencies missed in traditional testing, received upgrades in development over the past twelve months.

Behavioral Assessments by Prophecy measure key performance indicators - personality, cognitive reasoning and attitude - to enable organizations to hire caregivers with a greater degree of job fit. During the past twelve months over 20 specific job categories, such as ER Nurse, ICU Nurse, Medical/Surgical Nurse, were developed to capture behavioral characteristics that predict high performance of specialized placements in facility settings. Newly enhanced leadership reports allow facilities to identify those clinicians with the necessary management attributes, and career path them toward leadership positions.

Clinical Assessments by Prophecy help ensure that the caregivers hired have the latest skills and knowledge, as well as the critical thinking capabilities, needed to be successful. Prophecy’s Clinical Team released three new online nursing assessments to assist in addressing patient safety, as it relates to medication administration and calculations.

  •     RN Basic Math Ability
  •     RN Advanced Math Ability
  •     Perceptual Ability

These new assessments help insure that nurses start the job with the necessary mathematical skills to perform the critical functions requiring math, as well as assist in remediation initiatives to address medication errors.

Situational Assessments by Prophecy measure the fit aspect of applicants to the job. Responses to the web-based video vignettes can help pinpoint, with 99% confidence, which clinicians will make the most effective decision when responding to tough situations faced in the workplace.

Pending the conclusion of the evidence-based research project in conjunction with Biddle Consulting Group, new advanced clinical situational videos will be launched to find correlations between critical thinking and problem solving abilities of nurses and their actual job performance. The focus of this project is to predict the likelihood of exceeding job performance for applicants and incumbent staff using Prophecy’s Situational Assessments®. The results of this human resource tool specifically help with education, remediation, and ongoing competency assessment across three clinical specialties:

  •     Critical Care,
  •     Labor and Delivery, and
  •     Medical/Surgical.

For tracking and analysis of caregivers completing the assessment system, Prophecy released the Report Compendium in early Spring 2011. Created to assist with guiding education initiatives and allocating account usage, the queries delivered by the flexible reports quickly analyze possible gaps in knowledge or requirements of applicants or incumbent staff members.

Future enhancements currently under development include a re-write of Prophecy’s API for integration with any applicant tracking system or talent management system as well as the development of an elective, customizable application for assistance in pre-hire filtering. Prophecy plans to continue to develop the software package to anticipate the needs and fill the gaps for the healthcare industry.
